Mats Urban Bergstrøm from Langeland outside Mandal has experienced just that and was gradually abandoned. So stated that he decided to do something about the matter. And that has caught the eye.

"Yes, I decided to make a doll that I put on the roadside. It is highly homemade and is wearing a yellow reflective vest. But it has proven to be effective," smiles Mads.

"Of course, I just have to accept that, of course, people have to get ahead. What I respond to is that many people drive too fast, even though this is a 50 zone and it is marked 'Gardstun'," says Mats, who himself has children of five and seven years.

 

Have you received much response to this stunt?

"Yes, there has been a lot of talk about this in the neighborhood, and my impression is that everyone is positive. It's all about slowing down, which is positive for everyone who lives here," says Mads.

You're not afraid the police will dislike this?

No, and I haven't heard from them either. It would surprise me if they spend time on this when they don't have time to get out and even control how fast people are driving.

UP doesn't like it

To the local newspaper Lindesnes, district manager Oystein Krogstad in UP says that they are little excited about the invention.

"This I can spare my enthusiasm for. It is up to the UP and the police to take care of traffic controls and the general traffic safety, not the citizens. Then we can rather intensify the controls.
