Darkness falls faster and faster

This fall is unique. For a long time, we can enjoy sunny and warm days. However, they are getting shorter. Police remind us to wear reflective vests with reflective tape for clothing - especially during the autumn and winter. They can save our lives!

The use of reflective elements especially in autumn and winter, when it is dark early and visibility is definitely worse, can save our lives. Therefore, wearing reflective vests by pedestrians should become a habit. According to the Road Traffic Law, pedestrians who move along the road after dark outside the built-up area are obliged to use reflective elements in a visible way to other road users.

Correctly worn reflective elements should be placed in such a place that they are in the field of car light and visible to drivers coming in from both directions (back and front).

"If you attach a reflective element to the backpack (at the back of the silhouette) it is obvious that it will not be noticed by drivers coming from the opposite direction and vice versa when the reflection will be only at the front, the driver behind us will not see him. It is safe to have two reflective elements one at the front and the other at the back or to use such types of reflections that can be seen from both sides, for example, reflective bands," emphasize the policemen.

Because car dipped beam illuminates the path asymmetrically (more light is directed to the right side of the road), the reflective element should be placed as low as possible, then a light beam shines on it.

If someone often uses the road outside the built-up area, it is best if you decide to wear a reflective vest with reflective fabric, suspenders or a headband. The motorcyclists and cyclists are more and more convinced of these reflective elements, who, like pedestrians, are unprotected participants in the movement.

Widely visible in bright yellow vest

Good to see are the children of the three elementary school classes of the Steinem school center.

The days are getting shorter, the weather is rainier, stormier. The road and visibility conditions are bad. Road traffic carries great danger, especially schoolchildren are extremely vulnerable in the dark season. "Foresight" is necessary. Also with the drivers.

And this is where the ADAC Foundation brings colors into play with its "first-grader security campaign". So that motorists can keep their "white vest", the children on the streets run in bright yellow. The vest, which has been distributed nationwide by the ADAC free of charge since the beginning of school, is as often misunderstood, often the latest thing in fashion. But they increase visibility and, according to the ADAC Foundation, can "see their way through" to over six million children.

"While children in normal street clothes are only noticed at distances of up to ten or twelve meters, the children in yellow with the additionally printed reflective  materials are already visible if they are still well over 120 meters away," said Karlheinz Renner, chairman of the Motorsport club ( MSC), who handed over 61 neon-yellow vests on Tuesday on behalf of the Foundation's 61 first graders.

"In Germany, around 30,000 children are involved in traffic accidents every year," emphasizes the ADAC. "the safety of the youngest in the road is particularly important." It was important to maximize the visibility and thus the safety of children, and indeed especially in the dark, emphasized Renner and delivered to the vest a simple manual: "You should in the morning, when it's dark, always put on the reflective vest." It would be best to hang the vest to the wardrobe and just over the jacket over it. "

Rector Stefan Royal asked Karlheinz Renner to pass on the school thanks to the ADAC. He hopes the action will continue, he said, responding to Renner's announcement that the project is expected to be closed for privacy reasons, among other things. Mayor Braun also hopes that this would encourage the first graders to wear the vests with reflective fabrics at all costs, but still be careful and take care of each other on the way to school.

"The Rats of Mines" led by bikers in yellow vest

Not quite a year of existence for the association of The Rats of Mines and yet, with the support of some partners, it traces its route on the handlebars of a more or less big engine.

Because, indeed, it is an association of bikers of all the cubes and all the marks that The Rats of Mines gather in this association. Since its creation, members meet regularly to share their common passion by performing rides that are invariably accompanied by a few folks.

As was the case recently during a trip to Dordogne. Except that, before leaving, one of their partners, the company Didier Izard, offered them safety vests. "A fortnight in total," said the president of the Rats of Mines, Laurent, who intended them "to the supervisors of the outputs, because safety is paramount on the occasion of these motorcycle trips.

These safety vests will allow other road users to identify our supervisors. These safety vests are ideal for optimizing our safety and we thank our generous donor, and we invite motorcycle enthusiasts to join us. "

Waste collection operation on the banks of the Tarn

Some fifty students from the Montebello school took part on Thursday morning, in a vast waste collection operation on the banks of the banks of the Tarn and the side channel in the Garonne.

On Thursday morning, in the distance, about fifty small silhouettes, decked out in a reflective vest with reflective material, are already busy on the banks of the Tarn. Armed with gloves and trash bags, these students from Montebello School meticulously apply to pick up trash at the water's edge before throwing it into the corresponding bags.

A school in the running to be labeled "eco-school"
And because we know that at this age everything is an excuse to start a competition. That day, it's up to those who pick up the most garbage. Shards of glass bottles, cans, plastic bottles, various bags, etc. The list is long. Sometimes incongruous.

In any case, the initiative likes. It was launched by VNF, in partnership with the Montebello school, but also Moissan Solidarity and finally Sarcoma, a mixed syndicate for the treatment of household waste and other waste. It is part of the European Week of Sustainable Development. For the school of Montebello, it is especially the opportunity to concretize a year focused on the sorting of waste. "We are in the running to obtain the eco-school label," says Emmanuelle Boise, teacher of one of the two classes present on the operation. During the year, we worked on the topic of waste recycling. In particular paper. This operation today is to show children the importance of sorting and collecting waste. "

A necessary awareness for these children who do not fail to learn good habits to their parents when they return home. On the banks of the riverbank, although still at the spot, these students of CE2 / CM1 and CM1 / CM2 are not less surprised to see so much waste populated this beautiful space.

After a morning gathering along the banks of the Tarn and the two sides of the canal side of the Garonne, all actors found themselves for a picnic at the Uranium. All the waste collected was weighed and handed over to Sir Thomas, in charge of sorting.

Safety of pedestrians and cyclists

Officers of the Traffic Department of Police Headquarters conducted activities aimed at improving the safety of pedestrians and cyclists.

Safety of pedestrians and cyclists who are exposed to serious consequences during traffic accidents.

The officers also reminded that regardless of the time of day or year they should be visible from the road. To improve safety, they handed out reflective vests, which should be worn according to regulations in force, ie at dusk or outside built-up areas. Cyclists, in turn, should remember to equip their two-wheeler with lighting.

Police appeal to drivers!

Approaching the pedestrian crossing. They should exercise extreme caution and give way to pedestrians at the pedestrian crossing. The pedestrian, on the other hand, should remember that the fact of using the designated passage does not authorize him to enter the road without first checking if the vehicle is coming.
