Running gives me great joy

He runs ten kilometers a day. "Even over fifteen now. I forgot once and it was twenty-two," laughs Dalibor Gondík (44), actor, presenter, musician and father of the son Theodor (14).

Since last September she has been presenting a TV show Good Morning, the Czech Republic with her colleague Elen Cerna. They start at five o'clock in the dark. Nevertheless, Dalibor comes to the studio from the outskirts of Prague and after his broadcast, he returns home after nine o'clock.

"I wear reflective clothing and it's cool in the dark, but I'm just careful not to step on anything. I like the silent city. Once I got caught in heavy rain at Ladronka, but there's nothing I can do, I just have to keep going. I turned to Hradčanské Square and I was there in the rain. The castle guard was hiding in the booths. I followed the fourth courtyard to St. Vitus, nowhere. It was wonderful and I wanted to extend the experience even further. So I ran down to the Wallenstein Garden and enjoyed the Charles Bridge across the Lesser Town Square," says a native of Sokolov.

"Someone says he'll empty his head while running. I have it the other way around. Probably because the brain is oxygenated, a lot of things go through my mind. I come up with different texts, for example, what I forget. When I get ready for some heavy conversation on the show, I get the link."

Joy at the finish
He has been running this way intensively for the third year only. He wouldn't have dared at that distance before. As a boy he enjoyed sprints.
"Once we had to run 1500 meters at the elementary school and carried me out of the playground. Plus, I'm not a competitive type at all. I cannot compete with rivals. If my friend hadn't signed me up for the half marathon three years ago, I'd probably run around the house today, as I like it."

"I usually start at events with charity overtones, like Run CZECH. When I go through the goal, it's an incredible feeling. In Karlovy Vary, I even jumped into my arms Carlo Capalaba, who founded the Prague International Marathon. Running makes me happy. And I also decided to infect other people with a smile. It works incredibly. I run around a frowning guy or a worried woman, smile at them and they give it back to me." Dalibor nods his head.

The doctor doesn't stop him
However, the question is how his running together with epilepsy. He got his first attack fifteen years ago, the last one and a half years ago.

"I keep checking. Nobody knows why this happened, we don't have anything like that in our family. But running is not the starting moment. We discussed this with my doctor Marusic and we agreed that the seizure probably caused stress. However, the current EEG results are negative and the doctor does not prevent me from moving. He even enrolled in a charity run to support people suffering from epilepsy," explains a conservatory graduate who certainly doesn't save money at work.

Together with their younger sister Adéla, they presented the TV show of the Loskuták bird council for fourteen years. he also sings and creates scenic music for theaters (ABC, Jihlava, Zlín, Most). For two years he has been performing with another band, Dalibor Gondík Big Band.

Emotion problem
"I do not have, and even before that, I had no problem with work-related stress but emotions. I took everything too much. So I had to change my lifestyle and approach to things around. I try to keep my work from being so mentally exhausting. For example, moderating with colleagues Elen and Tereza is a joy. Adela and I are one blood, she knows exactly what I will say, and I know exactly what Adush will say. We're like twins, I know how he'll react.

I also had to organize my calendar better. Every second week when I moderate the morning on Two, I can't play theater or perform with the band in the evening. I wouldn't make it. Therefore, almost a year in advance I set deadlines to have those evenings free, and I consistently observe. In addition to running yoga, I eliminated stress from life. I enjoy it every day. And I also think daily that the most important thing in life is that we love and behave. What do you think?"
