Cycling with reflective vest for maximum visibility

The Association of Friends in safety vest of Rovigo Fib bike also proposes for 2016 the "Pedaling initiative under the stars", short routes in the city area, to do after dinner on Fridays in August from 5 to 21 hours.

With this proposal, the association intends to promote knowledge of the area, beginning with the one closest to us, our city, with the medium "congenial”, environmentally friendly, healthy and affordable that the bicycle that best allows the observation and sociability.

As usual, the event has a main theme and the 2016 edition is derived from the unification anniversary of Veneto to the Kingdom of Italy, which took place 150 years ago, and is inspired by the research done by the Institute for Technical Bernini surveyors on the fortifications Austrian in Rovigo.  

"In search of the Austrian forts" is the title of "Pedaling under the stars 2016". The idea is to tell it was the city of roses at the time of Austrian rule between shadows and lights of an important period in our history, going in search of existing tracks and other lost.

The proposal is divided into four thematic routes of about 10 km each, the Friday of the month of August 5-26, with meeting and departure for participant in reflective clothing at 21 at the headquarters in Coors.

At the center of the four outputs there will be above the search of the ancient Austrian fortifications but the rides will also rediscovering other buildings, artifacts, names still visible, testifying to the Austrian domination. There were four main fortifications and were placed in the city's suburbs in the vicinity of the current fractions.

The theme of urban mobility is a core activity of Fib, together with that of cycling. "Pedaling under the stars 2016" thus becomes a multifaceted cultural and social proposal to improve the knowledge of our city and raise awareness on the topic of sustainable mobility and safety.

At the end of each path will be a stop at an ice cream shop. The initiative is open to all. The Association strongly recommended that you participate with your bike in order, in particular to equip themselves with night lights and reflective vest for maximum visibility and respect the Highway Code. In order to guarantee insurance cover also asks participants a contribution of one euro for members, two for non-members.
